Parthenon
The Parthenon has
watched Athens change for nearly 2,500 years.
In the 5th century
BC, it stood in the full splendour of Classical Greece, with sculpted details
and painted elements that made the Acropolis far more colourful than many
imagine today.
Now, even in ruin, it
remains one of the most powerful symbols of Greek history and identity.
One sacred hill. Two
very different centuries. One Greek legacy that still stands.
