Το φημισμένο Πανεπιστημιακό Μουσείο Ashmolean της Οξφόρδης, στο οποίο εκτίθενται αυτή την εποχή αντικείμενα που αναφέρονται στη Μακεδονία και στον Μεγ. Αλέξανδρο, έχει ένα μόνιμο δωμάτιο αφιερωμένο στην Κύπρο.
Συγκεκριμένα, το δωμάτιο 18 του Μουσείου είναι αφιερωμένο στην Αρχαία Κύπρο. Το δωμάτιο ονομάζεται: «Ancient Cyprus - The A.G. Leventis Gallery».
Η οικογένεια Λεβέντη, μεγάλη ευεργέτιδα του Ελληνισμού, έχει επιχορηγήσει την μόνιμη αυτή έκθεση, η οποία αποτελεί μια σημαντική δυνατότητα προβολής του πολιτισμού της μεγαλονήσου και μάλιστα στον σπουδαίο αυτό χώρο των Γραμμάτων, όπως είναι η Οξφόρδη και το ονομαστό Πανεπιστήμιό της.
Στο τμήμα αυτό του εν λόγω Μουσείου βλέπουμε και θαυμάζουμε πολλά εκθέματα, πίνακες με ιστορικά στοιχεία, πολύτιμα αντικείμενα, αγαλματίδια, κεραμικά, όπλα, νομίσματα κ.ά.
Στην ιστοσελίδα του Μουσείου βρίσκουμε μεταξύ άλλων και την παρακάτω περιγραφή για την Κυπριακή Συλλογή: «The Ashmolean Museum has a large collection of archaeological material from Cyprus. The collection is representative of human history on the island, and is of international importance. The Ashmolean has been associated with the study of Cypriot archaeology since the late 19th century, and it has sponsored several excavations carried out there. Material from these excavations is represented in the collections and displays. The collection provides an excellent resource for the study of the archaeology of the island. Far from being a scientific resource alone, the collections provide surprising and often amusing insights into the lives of the ancient inhabitants of this Mediterranean island.
