Christ is Risen!
As we approach the historic day of His Majesty’s Coronation, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain kindly directs that on Sunday, 7th May 2023, following the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, every parish of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain observe the centuries-old custom of offering a Service of Doxology for such important occasions, most especially, for our Sovereign Lord, King Charles III on the occasion of His Coronation.
By offering our prayers during the Sacred Synaxis of the People of God, we adhere to the words of St Paul in his Epistle to Timothy, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour” (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Therefore, in a spirit of prayer and humble thanksgiving for all of God’s blessings that we enjoy on these isles, let us reverently and wholeheartedly offer and celebrate a Doxology for this great milestone in the history of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and for all of His Majesty’s territories and realms.
