ST. PANTELEIMON FC AWARDS CEREMONY

The Saints enjoyed a relaxed and fun evening at Orama Restuarant, Hatch End, NW London, on Thursday 6th July 2017 for our annual Player Awards Evening.

Manager George Frangeskou welcomed the players, guests and committee members. George gave a summary of the season, which saw St Panteleimon perform well in our first season in Division 1 of KOPA, finishing 4th. He praised the players for their teamwork, for their bond and for their welcoming in of new players.  George also announced that, just as we sat down to eat, our official Club photographer, Alexios Gennaris, had just become a grandfather. We all wish him, his daughter Marina and his new granddaughter Anastasia, every health and happiness.

Then Club Secretary, James Neophytou, spoke about his love for the Club, first and foremost as a fan. These players have made the community proud over the past 2 years.  James described the Club's delight at being accepted into the Middlesex County League.  The League were equally delighted to have us.  And how happy we are to give the players a great platform going forward. James thanked KOPA, saying we leave as friends. He also thanked North Greenford United, especially Richard Rooney and Barbara Bivens, for their hospitality and our new ground share agreement. The Silver Jubilee Stadium has been a great home ground for us, but the time has come to move. James ended by saying our elevation from Sunday to Saturday football will see us continue to hold up our cultural flag, and share our pride in our identity in this new world of the English football system. He raised a toast to the fantastic set of lads we have.

John Armenakas, Director of Football, then spoke, congratulating the players who would win awards. He spoke of team togetherness, and the exciting times we have ahead of us. He emphasised the team performs best when the players pull together and the level of performance is raised with everyone taking responsibility, in the game we all love.

Special thanks to Pani Argyrou and Savvas Andreou for their generosity in donating the excellent food and drinks at Orama Restaurant for the evening. And to our official photographer Alexios Gennaris for being reliably present to record the evening in images.
