Nick Salapatas at Swindon FC

Our local newspaper Harrow Observer has published in this week’s edition the following article about our Nico:

Nick Salapatas is determined to grab a second chance of a crack at professional football.

Twenty-one-year-old Salapatas, formerly a Conference player with Stevenage Borough, is among 66 hopefuls still in with a chance of bagging a pro deal with Swindon Town as part of the national Win a Pro Contract competition.

The winner of the competition will sign a pro contract with the League One side on January 11.

Currently studying Sports Science at Brunel University, Salapatas impressed in the regional trial at Eltham, but if he’s to ditch the books then he must shine again at the area trial in Dartford on Sunday.

“Being a professional footballer is all I ever wanted to become”, he said.

“So I’m really hoping to get back into the game with Swindon Town”.
