Έργο Αλέξανδρου Καπράρα

Κατά τον πρόσφατο εορτασμό των γενεθλίων μου έλαβα από τους φίλους μου όμορφα δώρα. Ένα από αυτά είναι κι ο παρακάτω πίνακας, έργο του αγαπημένου μου φίλου και εμπνευσμένου καλλιτέχνη Αλέξανδρου Καπράρα. Ο πίνακας είναι ιδιαίτερα προσωπικός, αφού εμπεριέχει έναν αριθμό και κάποια γράμματα, όλα σχετιζόμενα άμεσα με τον εορταζόμενο.

Ζήτησα από τον φίλο ζωγράφο να μου γράψει λίγα λόγια για τον εν λόγω πίνακα κι αυτός μου έστειλε τις παρακάτω γραμμές, τις οποίες παραθέτω αυτούσιες, μαζί με την αγάπη, τον σεβασμό και την ευγνωμοσύνη μου:

My recent work creates connections and metaphors that may not be predictable or seen immediately. The image is the subtext that allows the viewer to interact in order to consider a story.

The connection is between the water and the colour blind test. I see this as a game, as a natural phenomenon: half necessity and half coincidence.

Colour blindness means that the person has trouble seeing red, green. In one type of test, you look at sets of coloured dots and try to find a pattern in them.

My purpose is to create an art work with those tests and water droplets. Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient.

Uncertainty and unknown, that is what make game so exciting.

Whoever plays, leaves behind reality and dives into its world.
