Shared Sacred Spaces

 
The Rev’d. Dr. David - John Williams is pleased to announce a new four-week online course exploring one of his favourite areas of research: the ways Christians, Muslims, and Jews encountered, shared, contested, and reimagined sacred places across the Byzantine Mediterranean.
 

Drawing on architecture, pilgrimage, relics, historical texts, and archaeology, he will examine remarkable sites from Constantinople and Jerusalem to Sinai, Damascus, Cyprus, and beyond.
 
The course is suitable for anyone with an interest in Byzantine history, religious studies, the medieval Mediterranean, or sacred space. No specialist background is required and is open to all!
